Welcome Brothers and Sisters!
http://torwars.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/star-wars-the-old-republic-fan-poster-trooper-tor-wars.jpg

Wintro has complied using his wide array of SWTOR knowledge to come up with the best PVP specs for

Vanguard Tank, Vanguard Hybrid, Commando DPS, and Medic. I will also not only post the talent tree for each but along for the reason each of the talent points I put in for each and the roll each spec would fill in a pvp combat scenario

The Vanguard Shield Specialist (TANK SPEC)
http://www.zam.com/Im/Image/198042.jpg

Recommended Talent Tree

Pvp Overview; The objective of the Vanguard Shield Specialist is to create havoc (lol) within the enemy lines, be it using thier endless snares on melee, stun locking healer or simply not dying the Vanguard Tank is the first in in all pvp combat scenarios and the backbone for all pvp patrols.

War Zone Tactics
http://torwars.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/SWTOR_Oct_2011_03.jpg

Alderann Civil War Tactics; The job for a Vanguard Tank in Alderann has two different rolls; defending an objective or leading a charge to take one. When defending a turret node the Vanguard Tank is to make sure no one is capping so his/her roll will be to not only stop enemies from capping but protecting their allies through the use of taunts to lower enemy damage out put and using "guard" to take the damage for your weaker allies. When assaulting the objective your job is to be on the enemy 100% of the time to pull enemies that would stop your brothers from capping along with pushing them back to thier rez zone.

Key abilities; Storm, Harpoon, Energy Blast,

Void Star Tactics; The Shield Specialist Vanguard will be keeping the closet eye on the objective and always staying near the doors to interupt bomb carriers along with providing support to healers and damage dealers where ever needed. When attacking the Vanguard SS will run interference on enemy reinforcements to stop them from interrupting the bomb planters.

Key abilites, Storm, Harpoon, Stealth Scan

Hutt Ball Tactics; Huttball is where the Vanguard SS is the star, they will be the ball carrier or run body guard duty if another SS had already picked up the ball before hand. Since the Vanguard tank has a low damage out put you must use the area to your advantage; harpoon enemies into fire pits and cc them in it or harpoon an enemy off a balcony and into the range of your Commando brothers. When running the ball always save your important CDs, use your CC breaker only for traps as enemies love to stop you there or use storm on the enemy who is at the end zone for a quick score!

Key abilites, Harpoon, Cyro Grenade, Storm

Enemy Class Tactics

http://www.infernal-empire.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/trooper.png

Sith Warrior; The Sith warrior is one of the most iconic melee damage dealer you will face, they can take the hits but can also deal some heavy burst damage when specced for it. As a SS you will be going toe-to-toe with these sith almost always but they can easily be dealt with like any other foe you will go against. When in a group battle your job will be to hold the warrior still so a commando can tear them a new asshole, using your snares here are key. When in a 1 vs.1 scenario your best bet would to use your stuns towards the end of the battle so they can't pop any med packs or cool downs.

Key abilites, Stock Strike, Blitz, Energy Blast

Sith Inqusitor; Squishy and deadly. The Sith Inquisitor has one hundred one ways to get away but you have jsut as many to bring his/her ass back. When fighting an Inquisitor make sure you save your stuns for the last 10% or so of helath left incase they try to sprint away or CC you before you can finish them off. Interrupt as many of their spell casts as possibly and never let them behind you if they are a melee spec.

Key abilites, Cyro Grenade, Riot Strike, Harpoon

Bounty Hunter

Imperial Agent

COMMANDO Gunnery/Assault(DPS SPEC)
http://www.askajedi.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/aaj_exclusive.jpg

COMMANDO DPS

Pvp Overview; The Commando is the highest damage dealer on the republic side hands down. Thier Grav Round will annihilate most enmies in 4-5 hits and paired wth demolition round the DPS commando is one of the most feared players in any player vs. player scenario.

Warzone Tactics
http://files.g4tv.com/ImageDb3/269168_S/star-wars-the-old-republic.jpg
Alderann Civil War Tactics; As a Commando DPS you will always be off to the side from the main battle with all the melee, always try to find something where melee cannot get you such as the second level in the middle turret or ontop of the turret node itself! Your job will to elimnate all enemies near the objective but also go for the objective to capture it when the enemy has been pushed back

Key abilites, Grav Round, Demolition Round, Motor Volley

Void Star Tactics; AOE, AOE, AOE. When Defending the objective always aoe the door when the enemy is there as there can easily be more than one sith planting a bomb. Always keep a pillar around you handy to Line of Sight enemy damage dealers and stay off to the side. When attacking your job will be to elimnate all enemies has quick as possible, if no one is planting a bomb and the way is clear go try to sneak cap the explosive but most of the time leave the bomb handling to the vanguards.

Key abilities, Explosive Round, Grav Round, Motor Volley

Hutt Ball Tactics;

Sith Warrior, Grav Round will be your best friend in this battle. Sith warriors can wear the heaviest armor in the game and Grav round turns that into paper with its armor reduction, combine it with demolition round and a well timed cyro grenade you can stomp any sith warrior that is stupid enough to charge you.

I haven't spent much time thinking about how I would play a vanguard in pvp… that gave me a good idea. Thanks and keep updating soldier!

You may also want to take a peak at some videos that
Taugrim has out there for early pvp play. Depending on which tree you are planning on heading up, it may give you some more ideas.

Nice to see spec ideas although I prefer hybrid specs. If you put most the points in one tree there is little option 99% of the time then to end up with the same spec. More interesting specs are ones that exploit tree synergy, even if they do get nerfed very quickly.http://www.republictrooper.com/wp-content/forum-smileys/sf-smile.gif
