Patch 1.2 Is Now Live On The PTRs, Mega Patch Notes Released

Late Friday night BioWare released Patch 1.2 onto the TOR Public Test Realms. Anyone can now apply to play, and more importantly test the changes coming in the 1.2 release.

For those players lucky enough to get an invite to the PTRs there are a few perks you can receive. If you play a character to level 10 you will get an exclusive in-game title for all of your characters once Patch 1.2 goes live. Additionally, if you complete Chapter One on the PTRs you will receive a second exclusive in-game title for all of your characters!

Cover My Six – Havoc Squad: Where They Are And Where They Could Go

Cover My Six - Havoc Squad: Where They Are And Where They Could Go

Cover My Six is a column where Republic Troopers can get the latest and greatest intel on working with companions in Star Wars: The Old Republic. From crafting, to combat, to companion affection and more, Cover My Six will send you into battle with a better understanding of how your Companion Characters work and how together, you can rule the galaxy in in Star Wars: The Old Republic.

I remember the days and weeks leading up to The Old Republic’s release. Websites, forums and water coolers everywhere were abuzz with chatter surrounding BioWare’s first MMO with everyone opining about one aspect of the game or another. No matter where I turned, however, people seemed to be more interested in one aspect of the game over everything else—Companions.

While there’s no question that TOR’s Companion system is far and away the current leader in NPC sidekicks there is still quite a bit of room for improvement. Room that I think BioWare will be very keen on taking advantage of.

Always In Motion Is The Future – A Beginner’s Crafting Primer

Always In Motion Is The Future - A Beginner's Crafting Primer

Always in Motion is The Future is our column that deals with general news and information regarding The Old Republic based facts and finally spiced with the unique perspective of Republic Trooper.

At first glance the crafting system for Star Wars: The Old Republic doesn’t seem very deep, however, upon closer inspection you’ll find a system filled with nuances and possibilities. The first exposure you get to the system is once you get off your origin world and visit either the Republic Fleet or Coruscant. On the Republic Fleet you’ll find the trainers listed on the map in the Crew Skills section. On Coruscant you’ll find them located beneath the senate tower area.

Letters From The Troops – It’s Time That U And I Addressed My Needs

Letters From The Troops – It's Time That U And I Addressed My Needs

Every Trooper may be elite, but no battles would ever be won without the support of the squad. Letters From The Troops is our column where members of the RT squad chime in one topic at a time and ask our readers what they think about the issue!

Star Wars: The Old Republic spent years getting coordinates from the navi-computer and has now launched fully into hyperspace. But just like the Millennium Falcon TOR is a marvel to behold with its own collection of quirks and bugs. Of all the features that players are clamoring for in future patches, UI improvement rings out as one of the loudest and clearest across the space lanes.

What players want from a UI is as eclectic and personal as someone’s taste in music. The UI is the liaison between the player and the game. All of a player’s intents for his character need to be carried out through the tools that the UI provides, and a UI that tailors well to one player does not necessarily fulfill the needs of another.
